Mourne Music Therapy
Supporting wellbeing through music and creativity
Welcome to Mourne Music Therapy
We provide professional music therapy for people of all ages and abilities in Northern Ireland, offering a safe and creative space to explore, express, and connect through music.
Through improvisation, singing, songwriting, rhythm, and listening, our experienced therapist tailors each session to meet client need; whether supporting communication or regulation, building confidence or supporting mental health.
We believe music has the power to reach us in ways that words sometimes cannot.
Our aim is to make music an accessible pathway to wellness, expression, and connection - creating space for people to grow, feel heard, and discover the power of music in their own way.
What is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is a HCPC recognised form of therapy that uses music as a tool to support;
wellbeing
communication
emotional expression
sensory regulation
social connection.
We take a person-centred approach to every session so it is tailored to the individual, drawing on approaches such as musical improvisation, singing, songwriting, percussion and rhythm work, music production, relaxation and shared experience through sound or exploring familiar songs together. In groups, we play with everyone’s strength, keeping them at the core of the music while encouraging social connection, communication, and creative play with others.
